Beautiful Chilli just like her name..... she can take a little bit to warm up (especially with new people) but once her true character kicks in be ready for the ride.

Chilli is 2 years old, 14 kg and 21 inches tall.

Chilli came to us along with another large number of dogs from a situation where she had sadly lived an extremely sheltered life. When first landing into our care Chilli was scared and shut down. Since then she has come a long way but she is still quite a nervous little poppet.

Chilli's confidence has grown massively and we know that once she has some time within a home environment there is lots of curiosity and mischief to come. She needs a home with plenty of time to work with her continued socialisation and training and to help her understand all home life entails.

Chilli is not a dog for full time workers.

Chilli absolutely could NOT be an only dog. Other dogs are all she has known. She is currently kennelled with a similar female who came from the same situation.

However due to the situation she had been in she has a lot of respect for this female and no desire to challenge or push her. We do feel though that as this girl has so much more yet to come she would be best placed with a well balanced and patient male dog or she could with non pushy females live in a mixed pack. We do not feel it would be in Chilli's best interests to reside with another female.

Chilli is not cat or small furry friendly but could co exist alongside dog savvy children 14 years and upwards.

Out and about on lead Chilli now walks well and she really enjoys her excercise. There are still instances where she will freeze up though and time needs to be taken to help her to be confident enough to move along. When she first landed with us she had no concept of a collar and lead and was terrified of them. In the main now she is keen for walks but occassionally needs to be lifted over thresholds into new environments.

Travel wise Chilli does settle down on journeys but can still be a little nauseous so some more work with car rides would need to be placed.

Chilli is learning all about housetraining and now toilets on each and every walk and every time she is allowed out of the kennels to the field.

When she first came she did not even understand grass under her feet and ran like a little rocking horse but is now learning to flat run and enjoys the sighthound turn of speed and bitey face and leg games on the move!

All in all with a little more work Chilli is going to be an absolutely fabulous girl. She has learnt so much with us here at Greyhound Gap in just 6 weeks and have a thirst for knowledge, learning, enrichment and is more curious than worried now.

Chilli is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped, spayed and has had her teeth cleaned. She will also be rehomed with one months free insurance from Petplan.

Chilli is currently in Stoke on Trent and any family wishing to offer her a home must be willing to travel to meet her with all members of the immediate family and any resident dogs.
