Dash is a 10 month old whippet x boy who until landing with us here at Greyhound Gap had had the most awful start.

After wandering on his own for a little while at just 4 to 5 months of age he found himself in the stray pound.

When Dash first landed with us he first moved into foster.

Unfortunately the house and other dogs were too much for him and he did have a meltdown where he went for one of the other dogs in the home.

He was clearly not comfortable in close proximity in a small space.

Here at the kennels we have worked extensively with Dash and now he will walk with the other dogs at the kennels BUT does at all times practice avoidance.

He just is not comfortable with them getting into his space it frightens him and causes him to get upset.

We have run him off lead though with other dogs on lead in the paddock and he just goes about his business and stays out of the way so he does not want the confrontation.

Dash is a people dog through and through. He adores his humans and is extremely clever, he wants to learn and thrives from mental stimulation and training.

We also feel he would love an owner who loves to run and to get out there running with them will also help him to forget about other dogs as he will be concentrating on the job in hand.

Dasher will need a home with someone around all or most of the time and they will need to work with us to offer enough quiet time to decompress with lots of learning opportunities to help him settle to be left.

As he is so owner focused this will take time but he loves to please and taught gently with time will learn.

Out and about now Dash walks well on lead, he choses to ignore other dogs although if a dog starts to shout at him he may have a shout back to begin with until he learns his new owners can keep him safe.

Dash would absolutely love an active home. He loves to be out on long walks, sniffing and has plenty of stamina for hiking, beach trips and wonderful days out.

He would love a home that could include him in most of their day to day business.

Dash is not cat or small furry friendly and would need a home with dog savvy children teenage and upwards.

Dash is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and now that work has been done to ensure he is no longer fearful he will be castrated shortly before rehoming.

Dash will also be rehomed with 4 weeks Petplan insurance.

He is based in Stoke on Trent and all members of the immediate family would be required to travel to meet with him.

Dash really is the most epic loving little dog who we just know in a dog free environment with experienced active owners will thrive to make the most wonderful family dog.
