Beautiful Ozzie is now finally ready to find his forever home after a tough few years with us here at Greyhound Gap.
Ozzie is a 5 year old Greyhound and was bought into us earlier this year. He had been rehomed via a stray pound and bounced 3 times. Non of them his own fault and all down to the home not actually understanding what a Greyhound entailed or child allergies.
When he landed with us he was a bundle of nervous energy who was hugely stressed at finding himself back in a kennel environment with strangers once again. That was not helped by a nasty toe infection he was carrying. Over the next few months we set about settling Ozzie down and attempting to treat and save the toe. Out of the kennel and in our home from home room Ozzie was the most laid back gentle Greyhound ever. Even though we spent thousands and worked so hard to fix the toe in the end we had to accept that even though a weight bearing toe in Ozzies best interests it needed removing. Thankfully it has healed wonderfully.
Even though we know Ozzie could easily live alongside a female sighthound we would like to find him if possible to begin with a home as an only dog. A home where he will have a few months attention and to learn he is secure and not about to be moved on again with a experienced sighthound family. This boy is an absolute darling and has so much love to give and he deserves to feel that security in return.
Ozzie is fine to be rehomed with dog savy children 8 years and upwards. He is non reactive when out and about to other dogs on walks but is NOT cat or small furry friendly. Ozzie travels like a dream, loves people and all through his numerous vet visits and medical treatment and toe dressings here he has been patient and calm and allowed us to happily tend to him.
Ozzie is currently located in Stoke on Trent. He is clean in his kennel and walks like a dream on the lead. He is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, neutered, has received a dental and is microchipped he will also be rehomed with 1 months free insurance. This special lad really does deserve to be in a forever home in time for Santa.
