24-01-2007 - Noggin the Nog Leaves for the Bridge

With a very heavy heart we have to announce that on Saturday 20th January one of the much loved Greyhound Gap sponsor dogs Nog left us for the bridge.

Nog came to Gap in June 2006 after being abandoned by his owners aged 11 and with such stiff joints he could barely walk, a mouthful of broken and rotten teeth, and with a lot of trouble breathing.

He had 9 teeth removed and had xrays taken of his joints which were ok but it was discovered that he had a greatly enlarged heart and a shadow close by which could be a tumour.

Nog has been very lucky to have spent the last 10 months of his life with a very special lady and one of our main foster careers and volunteers Dawn. He has probably received more love and attention in this short time than he has throughout the duration of his life. At Christmas this gentle boy lay for hours watching the twinkling of the tree lights and im sure from now on when Dawn and others see their beauty we will be reminded of the gentle boy that was Nog the Dog.

Sleep tight old boy then run like the wind with legs all new. Forever in our hearts.

Our good thoughts and heartfelt sympathy also go out to *his* Dawn who we know will miss him always. Dawn you and yours are in our thoughts x

Nog
It was decided that he would not be rehomed but would stay in his foster home and be spoiled as a sponsor dog.
