14-06-2008 - Adrian safely completes Mount Blanc Climb!

Thank GAWD!

Just had an update from Jo as Adrian has called in....

Just had a phone call from Adrian, he is off the mountain and safe

They had a monster climb yesterday, left at 2.15AM and climbed on hands and feet, bottom in the air jobbie for 4 hours, then walked for 4 hours and they were in sight of the summit. But the weather started to close in, and with Lisa's and my warnings ringing in their ears, they very sensibly decided to take shelter, temperature in the hut they sheltered in dropped to -10 so hopefully that gives everyone some idea of how hard the conditions were.

Thankfully they did stop, because a small party went on, and had to be air lifted off the summit

So all in all, a 14 hour climb, but back safe

AND today is Adrian’s 35th Birthday, so a MASSIVE thank you to him, and a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

He has loads of photo's which he is going to drop across to me next week so I'll pop a few up for us all to get an idea of the fantastic views.
