Taylor is a beautiful 2- to 3-year-old whippet x girl who came into us from a stray pound situation emaciated with a severely damaged tail.

She was also at high risk of euthanasia as labelled dog aggressive. However, upon landing into our care it was clear to see that Taylor was a very insecure little dog who needed to decompress and learn to trust.

Taylor was admitted to the vets immediately and the tail was amputated. It soon became clear also that some of her behaviour was due to the level or soreness she was experiencing due to the injury.

All through the healing process Taylor was patient and non-reactive with humans, even when it was uncomfortable, she would do nothing more than squeak.

Taylor is a beautiful natured energetic girl who needs a confident owner.

Out and about on lead in the main Taylor walks like a dream. However, she does still need continued confidence building and gentle socialisation.

Mostly now she is relaxed when passing dogs out on walks with space but if other dogs react to her, she will react and have a shout back.

Taylor has been socialised with dogs at the kennels though and has shown big or small with the right calm dogs she is non-reactive.

Taylor is not cat or small furry friendly.

She does not have a huge prey drive but does have a strong reaction to squirrel out on walks and needs an owner versed in understanding this behaviour. However, Taylor is VERY food motivated and easily distracted.

We feel that Taylor could be placed as an only dog if someone were around all or most of the time to begin with and to work alongside us to ensure she was settled without allowing separation issues to be created.

We also feel she would be fine to live with a laid back confident male medium sized and upwards.

She would be fine to live with dog savvy children aged 6 and upwards.

Taylor is currently with us here in kennels but does work hard to keep her environment clean and toilets immediately on command when taken out. Due to this we don’t envisage house training being an issue.

Taylor travels well settling down to sleep.

Taylor is microchipped, vaccinated, kc vaccinated, defleaed, dewormed, spayed and has received a dental. She will also be rehomed with one-month free insurance with Petplan.

Taylor is currently in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire anyone wishing to offer this lovely girl a home must be willing to travel with all immediate members of the family and resident dogs.
