Our stunning Ernie is now ready to find his forever sofa. Ernie is a 3 year old lurcher boy who came into our care with Bert. Both were handed to drinkers outside a pub by a man in a van. Having now served their time with the dog warden they have both been relinquished into Greyhound Gap's care.

Ernie is around 3 years of age and a absolute clown and love bucket combined. He gets on really well with Bert but is quite worried by other male dogs. However he is great with steady females. Ernies ideal home would be with a female sighthound, he is not cat friendly but can be rehomed with dog savvy children 6 years and upwards. He needs a home willing to work with us to settle him indoors and get him use to being left. Although Ernie has never lived inside he is clean in his kennel so we do not envisage housetraining being a problem. If Ernie were to be rehomed as an only dog he would need someone around all or most of the time in the beginning to work with us to get him use to being left totally alone. Out on lead Ernie was relatively strong when first landing with us but is learning to listen now and settle down. He can be a little vocal at times when he sees other breeds both on lead and running lose but this is born more from frustration and noseyness so a home that has worked with a dog who can behave in this way is imperative to ensure safe gentle socialisation and that it does not become reactivity. Ernie settles like a dream to travel.

Ernie is one of the favourites here at the kennels. He is such a good hearted, fun dog and never fails to put a smile on our face. If an experienced home could be found willing to take Bert and Ernie as a bonded pair we would also be willing to consider this as they do get on so well together.

Ernie is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped, neutered and has received a dental. Ernie is currently located in Stoke on Trent and any family wishing to be considered to offer him a home must be willing to travel with all members of the immediate family and any existing dogs to meet with him.
